CHIROPRACTIC NEWSPress ReleaseLOCAL TEACHER TURNS EAST TO ACUPUNCTUREBeing a teacher in this day and age in Nottingham is no walk in the park. Stress and pressure of the daily workload take their toll both mentally and physically. This has led to many teachers thinking of changing careers. Primary school teacher Joe Stevens knew he wanted to change his career direction but did not know exactly what he wanted to do. He knew he was unhappy and would spend hours talking to friends about how he would love to do something else. The problem was he had no idea whatsoever as to what that ‘something else’ might be. He found his thoughts on the subject were confused and he knew that he had to make the right decision: He did not want to jump out of the frying pan and into the fire. He remembered meeting an acupuncturist in Cumbria called Sheila Bowman who had explained to him that if a person lived in harmony with the world and was well balanced in themselves then they would naturally find their own way. Sheila taught Joe that acupuncture could help a person to achieve this. Joe sought acupuncture treatment in Nottingham. He learned that that the skilled needling of carefully selected points on his body not only made him feel better physically, it also made him feel happier. He learned that in Chinese medicine the body, mind and spirit are all treated together and that the result could be wonderful. He also found that he could think clearly about what he wanted to do in his life. The confusion lifted. If acupuncture made him feel so good, why shouldn’t he learn to do this for other people? People suffering from chronic problems such as depression, I.B.S. or even fertility problems. In 2005 Joe enrolled at the College of Traditional acupuncture at Hatton, Warwickshire for three years. He is now fully qualified and offering treatment at the Radcliffe Chiropractic Clinic, Radcliffe on Trent. Call 0115 9334544 for more details and to contact Joe. |
